It can be so easy & a very quick process, where we end up reverting to a place where we do not trust God like we should… It can be because of something very small or immensely large in your mind, but the scariest times for me is when I do not even know I am not trusting Him. I think that when we choose to constantly remind ourselves that God cares for us, & loves us more than we can fathom… We can live with the truth that He wants the best for us in EVERY SCENARIO!

If you don’t feel like you have ever had a true understanding of God’s great love for you, that is certainly the first step in trusting Him. All you have to do is simply ask God to reveal His never-ending love… I can promise that He wants to show you even more than you want Him to & wants you to live in that reality of love EVERYDAY! It is a love that brings freedom; freedom from fear | worry | pain | the unknown... You can live with the faith mentioned in the song so many of us grew up singing, He holds the WHOLE WORLD in His hands!

2. Also, you MUST choose His ways OVER YOURSELF. 

I have heard this my ENTIRE life in one form or another —  & it is still one of the hardest things to do. This is because we are naturally selfish & most of the time do it by default. Don’t believe me, lets look at the area of finances for example… we are naturally stingy with God when it comes to “our money.” If you don’t live with the understanding that He has provided ALL that you already have, & yet has still promised to provide all of your needs, as it is mentioned in {Philippians 4:19} — you will never fully get to experience His full provision in life, this is because you take your finances or whatever you struggle with at the moment in your own hands, instead of trusting God with it. He tells us that He will provide & yet we do not place God as a priority in our actions, so you cannot really know what it is like to experience His financial provision… Living in His promises & trusting His way over our own priorities will move us into peace, because we can live in a life where our reality is that God provides for us, we don’t have to strive for it. 

Wouldn’t that be so great, to never have to worry about money… It is hard to think about for some of us. I remember, when my husband left me. He was dissatisfied not just with me & our marriage, but with himself… He no longer wanted the life he had chosen. For me the issue at hand was not that he was simply leaving but in a practical sense… He left me one day before all of our monthly bills were due without even a thought to help {which thinking back – why would he if he was thoughtless enough to have an affair..} This man was not the financial provider by any means in our marriage, but helped along the way… also, without my knowledge or agreement, I soon found out that he had been using my credit card & placed me {for the first time of my life, in a situation where I was in debt.} I was responsible in my name on my card for over 5k {at least}, of money I never spent. This goes without saying — it wasn’t cool of him to do, & compounded on all the real feelings I was facing having to do with abandonment | rejection | pain | & more, as you can imagine… I didn’t know what I would do to get out of this financial situation that was not even my doing. 

I made the decision to be faithful to God, even when in the moment — I didn’t honestly feel like anyone was faithful to me. I was seriously thinking, “how could God let this happen,” but even still I chose to be faithful, because it is who I am. I realized that there are times in life, where we are faced with a choice… We do not often get to choose what happens to us — but we ALWAYS have the choice of how we respond! & even when we don’t know what the outcome may be or how it will,“work out for our good.” I am happy to report, as I stayed faithful to my tithe & to prioritizing God in my life — God took control {in what I believe was in miracle timing & fashion. } He worked out the rest… I believe that it was my choice to be faithful, that enabled Him to move like He did!

He sent people to help me | He brought in unforeseen opportunities | & I was always able to take care of what I needed to & still have something left. It was tight at times, but God provided in a way I never could imagined… & I now live with the confidence, like never before — that God is my provider! I also eventually understood that this situation, though it looked like God had abandoned me — was actually an amazing way He proved His love towards me, &  God was actually providing a way out of what was not for me, & began to prepare me for my best ahead! & yet, I cannot help but think that it was my choice, my actions in striving to respond rightly in a wrong situation… { even in my flawed human way} that enabled God to show me what He did, in the timing I experienced it. Taking POSITIVE ACTION is the key theme here…

As the Bible tells us… & again, knowing the Word of God will help answer if there is something for us to do. Talking again the area of finances, when we give our money over to God, we can trust that He will be & is our provider, & “He will provide all of our needs.” We then do our part & place Him over our situation | priorities | needs & ourselves in general, by obeying the Word in this area… & doing what we can do, which is “putting our hand to something, so He can bless it”, we do this is through ‘tithing and giving’ (Numbers 18:26, Luke 6:38). Do you live with this confidence in all areas of your life? Do you know that God will handle it | He will fight for you | & He will make a way, when there seems to be no way… how else do you build that confidence, except through actions?!?

It is in our action, that God is enabled to take action. When our action comes into alignment with His heart & priorities — He can make us a priority!

God wants you to know that HE IS MORE THAN ABLE TO TAKE THE WEIGHT FROM YOUR SHOULDERS. Maybe like me, you feel or have felt like you are strong enough & can take care of it, or you can even think that God has given you the ability on your own to carry large weight — & while this is great that you are strong… you still will eventually end up feeling weighed down at some point, you will hit your limit without His power & find yourself dealing with the symptoms of a lack of trust, we cannot & are not supposed to handle these problems & the weight of our life on our own!

Would you take the time with me today & pray about that thing or things that you are worrying about, those things that make you lose sleep & keep you in a state of stress… Choose to release it into Gods hands — knowing that He has promises that are REAL & will always take care of you. If you are unsure if you have anything you need to let go of or give back, ask Him for help to show you if there is anything you can do, & let Him handle the rest!

I have found myself so many times, in differing seasons worrying about something or an issue I thought I was over… & then it’s like, here it is again… I begin having residue of these symptoms of a lack of trust seep into my life! If this is you… 🙂 

STOP right now & say, “I refuse to let worry control me! I WILL NOT be led by this negative thing | thought | feeling | person | or situation anymore. God is taking care of me & He will handle it, as I am faithful to Him — He promises to be faithful to me!”

God has great promises for us, & when we take action & choose to give up the weight of what we shouldn’t be carrying anyway — His “peace that passes all understanding will flood our mind & hearts as we put our trust in Him FULLY!” It may be a process to let go all the way & give it TOTALLY to Him… but when you choose to give it up fully, you will realize what real freedom | real joy | real peace looks like. They are gifts that you must learn to receive, not things you work for… All you have to do is work on yourself & your heart… Then God goes to work on the rest!
