Love Fiercely

This message was spoken at Elevate Life Church in Frisco Texas on July 21st 2019.

BEING GREAT-FULL ADDS POWER TO YOU – THAT YOU WOULD NOT OTHERWISE HAVE…

TOO OFTEN OUR BUT’S ARE BIGGER THAN THE POWER OF GOD IN OUR LIFE… My dad has always taught me that NOTHING BEFORE BUT MATTERS. & we have the choice to see life this way: This situation may look negative or difficult, BUT GOD! This thought process of trusting in God, even when you cannot see Him working is so important, because – What We FOCUS on EXPANDS – The FACTS may have not changed, but you can change your FOCUS or the way you look at those facts. Chose to focus on what is good!

One thing I grew up hearing in my house was, WHAT YOU ARE FULL OF – IS WHAT YOU WILL BE LED BY. The enemy wants you to get full of the wrong things. Full of excuses, full of fear, full of IT (whatever it is for you!) Because if you are full of the wrong things, that is exactly what will lead you… & those wrong things, thoughts, & feelings – will lead you down a negative path.

THE PARTS OF YOU THAT ARE NOT GRATEFUL, ARE THE PARTS OF YOU THAT CANNOT BE GREAT – THESE AREAS IN OUR LIFE, ARE LITERALLY HELD BACK BECAUSE YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO PLACE  PRIORITY ON THE PROBLEM OVER GODS POWER & PROMISE. GRATITUDE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE. It has nothing to do with how you feel about something, or what it looks like right now. Being GREAT-FULL –  HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PERSPECTIVE. GREATNESS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU DO – IT IS WHO YOU ARE. You can choose to be grateful & live a life that attracts greatness to you.

I hope that this encourages you & inspires you to be more GREAT-FULL! I am currently really trying to work on this myself – & I believe that as I focus on who God is over what I can see or feel – my life & outlook will change drastically for the better. I don’t want to let my excuses get in the way of God moving in my life or in any moment, because I need His perspective & power to help me be GREAT! Thank you for taking the time to listen/watch/read this post!

(Below are some of my main points & scriptures from the message.)

PSALMS 34:1-3 (NIRV)

I will thank the Lord at all times. My lips will always praise him. I will find my glory in knowing the Lord. Let those who are hurting hear me & be joyful. Join me in giving glory to the Lord. Let us honor him together.

YOUR WORDS MATTER – THEY CREATE YOUR WORLD.

JOHN 10:10 (NIRV)

The thief comes only to steal & kill & destroy. I have come so they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FEEL GRATEFUL – TO BE GRATEFUL.

ECCLESIASTIES 7:8 (ERV)

It is better to finish something than to start it. It is better to be gentle and patient than to be proud and impatient.

GREATNESS IS NOT A TITLE or POSITION – IT IS A DISPOSITION.

It’s who you are inside, it is what you carry.

EPHESIANS 4:27, 29-30 (ERV)

27 Don’t give the devil a way to defeat you… 29 When you talk, don’t say anything bad. But say the good things that people need—whatever will help them grow stronger. Then what you say will be a blessing to those who hear you. 30 And don’t make the Holy Spirit sad. God gave you his Spirit as proof that you belong to him and that he will keep you safe until the day he makes you free.

DON’T CONTINUE TO LET THINGS TAKE UP SPACE YOU NEED FOR THE GOOD THINGS.

TAKE INVENTORY OF WHAT YOU ARE GIVING SPACE TO.

PSALM 103:1-5 (NIRV)GIVE YOUR LIFE TO GOOD THINGS

I will praise the Lord. Deep down inside me, I will praise him. I will praise him, because his name is holy. I will praise the Lord. I won’t forget anything he does for me. He forgives all my sins. He heals all my sicknesses. He saves my life from going down into the grave. His faithful & tender love makes me feel like a king. He satisfies me with the good things I desire. Then I feel young & strong again, just like an eagle.

WHEN YOU MAKE ROOM – GOD WILL FILL YOU WITH GOOD THINGS!

PROVERBS 14:30 (TLB)

A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life; jealousy rots it away.

WHAT HAS YOUR NAME ON IT WILL NOT GO TO ANYONE ELSE.

BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE ROOM FOR IT.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-9 (TPT)

Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, 7 then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.8 So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. 9 Follow the example of all that we have imparted to you and the God of peace will be with you in all things.

WHAT YOU HOLD ON TO – WILL HOLD ON TO YOU!

COLOSSIANS 3:15 (ERV)

Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking. It is for peace that you were chosen to be together in one body. & always be thankful.

EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU – ALSO HAPPENS FOR YOU.

When you are grateful for what you have, you disempower self-pity based on what you don’t have.

YOUR PREFERENCES CAN ENABLE YOU TO MISS GODS PURPOSE & PROVISION IN A MOMENT.

 2 CORINTHIANS 4:7 (ERV)

We have this treasure from God, but we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This is to show that the amazing power we have is from God, not from us.

It is impossible to be grateful & unhappy at the same time

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 (TPT)

& in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.

The bible doesn’t say, THANK GOD FOR ALL THINGS – IT SAYS THANK HIM IN ALL THINGS!

2 CORINTHIANS 12:9 (TPT)

But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, & my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So, I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.
