At the end of April, I had the opportunity to speak during She Time at Elevate Life Church. My message was called | GIRL BOSS |. The message focused on what we need to GIVE UP– In order to be someone who is not just living for God, but GIVE UP so that you can actually become a weapon in the Kingdom of God!

This was not an easy message for me. It had been almost a year since I have been on stage & my recent life experiences were not something I was eager to share. To talk about something so close to my heart- That God had been healing was not even honestly what I intended to speak about… However, my mom announced that I would be sharing my recent lessons on how to be a boss, in the main service at church… I decided to be obedient & actually stand on the belief that- By letting God use my life & all the pain I have been through, it enabled me & others to experience the truth that there is a God purpose in all of our pain. I Also realized that this opportunity was a God-ordained moment that He could use my pain to reveal His promise… Not just for me but for anyone that would hear my story. 

I ALWAYS want to use the pain I have been through to help others… To show the way- To live a life of purpose & power, which is located on the other side of our pain. I want to help people know that if you let God have control in & through your pain- He can & WILL use it! Pain is a weapon in Gods kingdom against the enemy… The enemy knows that pain is powerful- When we choose to give it to God… it intimidates the enemy. He wants you to stay in your pain & in your hurt because he knows once you turn it over to God… he has no power in your life. You now obtain a powerful weapon against him through Gods power working in & through your life! What the enemy thought would break you & set you up to fail- God uses it to build you up & set you up to win like never before! You see, God never allows us to go through something without giving us the opportunity to grow & have even better than what we have had in the past… His BEST is what we now can operate in & receive (even in our worst moments)… If we choose to GIVE UP whatever may get in the way of Gods power working in & through us. 

(2 CORINTHIANS 12:9)  

“My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

Gods plans are so much bigger than our momentary pains. Don’t let a rejection | a loss | or a setback keep you from reaching Gods best, that is waiting for you. It is on the other side of your choice to GIVE UP…

On the night I spoke at She Time- I believe God did some incredible works in my life & heart, but I also believe that thousands of other women | men were | have been | & will continue to hear Gods plan for them- By allowing weakness & pain to empower Gods strength, which moves us into living | working towards | & receiving the promises that He has for all of us in every season. We all need each other… I hope the path I have walked & any pain God has led me through, which has & is now a great purpose- Will show the way, so you can do the same in your life (even in the middle of your worst) & believe that God has His BEST on the other side of your surrender.

Below I list the 10 things to GIVE UP– As well as some additional thoughts under my points from the message. I couldn’t include all of the information- It would have made this post way longer than it already is! But take your own notes as you listen & post a comment if it helped or encouraged you!

I hope you find strength through my story… That it inspires you & shows you that when you choose to GIVE UP anything & everything that may be keeping you from the BEST… God can actually release you into an anointing & purpose you have never known. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING WITH YOU… Even when it seems like you are in your darkest moments. It is usually the darkest moments | or situations when you feel as if you have been buried- That God has actually planted you deeper- He knows that you are able to bear fruit by going deeper & before this pain | or loss- You would have never had the depths to sustain what He has for you in the future!

I ask that as you listen to the message- Have an open heart & if you find yourself in the middle of a hard time… HOLD ON! Give anything & everything you have as an offering-Trust that God has never left you, spend time in His presence like never before- Not thinking about what your life is or is not according to how you see it! But allow God to define your moments & NEVER GIVE THE ENEMY ONE DAY | SECOND | or MOMENT of your life…

Give up your way- & let God lead you… HE WILL PROVE HIMSELF FAITHFUL TO YOU EVERY TIME! Let Him be strong for you in this season… You don’t need to have all the answers! He has them- So let God lead you into His promise!

( 2 THESSALONIANS 3:3-5)

“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one. Have confidence in the Lord concerning your life… May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.”

HOW TO BE A BOSS: GIVE UP.

1. GIVE UP THE BLAME

SOMETIMES A DISAPPOINTMENT IS ACTUALLY YOU BEING DELIVERED.

2. GIVE UP HAVING TO KNOW WHY

(JAMES 1: 2-4)

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, or you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.¨

3. GIVE UP THE CONTROL

You cannot get you to the place God is trying to take you… if you have the reigns… what if the thing | person | situation you are struggling with cannot & should not go where God is taking you.

GOD KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED– SO… LET IT GO.

4. GIVE UP ANY EXCUSE TO STAY UNHEALTHY

EXCUSES ARE A TOOL FOR THE WEAK MINDED AS THEY HAVE NO TRUE CONVICTION TO PAY THE PRICE FOR GREATNESS.

(1 PETER 2:19, 21-23)

“For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was hated, he did not hate in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.”

5. GIVE UP YOUR NEED FOR IM SORRY

YOU WON’T HAVE TO TELL SOMEONE THEY ARE MISSING OUT IF THEY ARE.

YOU DON’T NEED ANYTHING FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING OF VALUE TO OFFER YOU.

If someone can walk away… LET THEM.

6. GIVE UP COMPLAINING

Complaining is never an antidote for anything. It fixes nothing, it solves nothing, it does nothing but holds you back.

NEGATIVITY IS THE LOVE LANGUAGE OF THE ENEMY- HONOR IS GODS LOVE LANGUAGE, WHO ARE YOU LOVING?

7. GIVE UP THE NEED TO BE OKAY

We NEED GOD… We don’t practice focusing on what matters MOST- more than OUR agenda… more than OUR life… more than OUR WAY.  |CHOOSE GOD|

(PSALMS 91)

 “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my deliverance.”

8. GIVE UP A RESISTANCE TO CHANGE

I have confidence in knowing that if there is a change- When I am submitted to God… He will not only guide me, but I trust that He has already gone before me! & The changes that take place will develop something in me if- I let them… that will ultimately PROVE who God is.

(ROMANS 5:3-5)

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

9. GIVE UP ON YOUR WAY

Discipleship | FOLLOWING GOD comes with an option… it is those who choose to be faithful to God even in the midst of unfaithfulness that becomes a champion.

PROCESS IS THE PLAYGROUND OF CHAMPIONS.

10. GIVE UP WHAT YOU HAVE

When you give up on your way… & what you have or don’t have- YOU ENABLE YOURSELF TO RECEIVE WHAT GOD HAS.- WHY DO WE HOLD ON TO TRASH IN OUR LIFE? – I don’t know… but I do know that if your hands | heart | Life| & Head are full of trash… you will not be able to receive the TREASURE God has in store for you!

It’s amazing how the seemingly “wrong” things in life… that appear only useful to hurt you… are the KEY that God gives you to open not just a better life & future than you could have ever dreamed- But that enable you to receive GODS BEST!

SOMETIMES YOU ARE ACTUALLY BEING DELIVERED FROM WHAT | WHO LEFT YOU.

ITS IS THE PAIN IN LIFE THAT SETS YOU UP FOR THE PROMISE.

(JAMES 1:12)

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
