Too many of the best things in life get pushed to

Too many of the best things in life get pushed to the side for the sake of “getting it done.” You may have your checklist or know what the non negotiable’s are… but when’s the last time you just took the time to be here now?!?
When is the last time you watched your child laugh at something or connect with them in the eyes & talk to them, not AT them?!?
When is the last time you shared a moment, without social media or work getting in the way…

We can get so busy that we don’t take time for the greatest moments. Today I was watching Arik watch something and just seeing his expressions filled me with so much joy…

It was a reminder. The laundry can wait, the dishes can wait, the to do list can wait. Sometimes you just need to take in the NOW & know…

You’ll never pass this way away.

The to-do list will be there tomorrow too… but this moment won’t. So, enjoy it.

So honored to have the parents that I have.

They live a life & have a love story worth following & learning from. They are true examples of what greatness looks like.

I am always amazed at their story together & all the ways the have chosen to honor God all the way in all of their life.

Thank you for being the greatest template of a marriage that I have ever seen.

I was thinking about this the other day…
& I think that we all - at times make decisions that do not move us closer to who we want to be.

Maybe it’s because we’re stressed that day or we weren’t paying attention or we didn’t care enough…

But if you think of it in terms of building your dream house, every decision that you make is like a stone you place & that stone is either building the type of house you want, or it’s putting together some meaningless pile of rocks. I don’t wanna look back at my life and think what are all those rocks over there… I want to be able to look back at something that was beautiful. Yeah, took a lot of work, immaturity and intentionality but it’s what I get to live in…

Every day your actions and choices are creating what you live in right now.

The more intentional we can be with our action today, the better life, outcome, & person we are going to be in the future.

This is an idea that really challenges me, but it also encourages me because I understand that I have power because I have the ability to make intentional choices every day.

Many people use discernment in ways God never intended.

The Latin root of “discernment” means to “separate” or “set apart.” For people who follow God - this is the ability to separate good from evil, truth from falsehood, wisdom from foolishness.

It is WISDOM as we mature, that helps to measure discernment, which allows us to identify right from wrong & best from Good… not just good & evil.

The ability to gain wisdom comes from God & reading His Word - helps you to be equipped to actually APPLY what you learn.

Proverbs 17:24 tells us that, “Anyone who understands what is right keeps wisdom in view. But the eyes of a foolish person look everywhere else.”

It goes on to say in verse 27 & 28, “Anyone who has knowledge controls their words. Anyone who has understanding is not easily upset. We think even foolish people are wise if they keep silent. We think they understand what is right if they control their tongues.”

God wants us to operate in a way that is set a part…

Anyone can see someone or something & have a feeling about it & make a judgement based on emotion… We see this daily in our world - people make judgements & even “cancel” people if their feelings catch enough traction.

But our job is to LEAD what we FEEL & ask God for help as we MATURE… Your ability to discern things was given to you - to HELP you make better decisions & alignments… not to judge others or things.

The best thing we can do is make determinations based on your (hopefully) BIBLICAL VALUES, when looking at: alignments, daily decisions & where you give your time & money…

God gave you the ability to discern things to set you a part. Not to push others away… or make emotional based judgments in a moment that is fleeting.

This is not meant to put anyone down for living a

This is not meant to put anyone down for living a disingenuous life. But rather to challenge you to be REAL with yourself… all of us struggle with this in areas.

Some how in life - like Adam & Eve, in the garden… we forget that God sees it all. We cannot hide from him… the enemy wants you to keep things in the dark.

But your pretending to be something or someone that isn’t actually true is not letting God have it. You are in a sense “keeping that part of you - for yourself…” & God can’t work with it. & in fact - you are giving the enemy ammo in your life at that point.

I think the constant challenge we face is to understand that God knows & sees it all… I want to be blessed by Him so I have to give Him access to ALL of my life - if I want Him to be able to work in ALL of it.

HAPPY BDAY JESUS…
Even though you probably weren’t born in December, your birth is the one that is the most worth celebrating!
There’s so much I could say.
But I’ll just say, I’m going to live the rest of my life telling people about you, showing them who you are - through my life & we will raise our children to honor & love you by providing opportunities for them to personally know you!
Thank you for loving us right where we are - but also loving us so much that you help us move past our present & empower us to step into the future you have planned for us!

6 years ago today - you asked me to be yours… but in my 🖤 I had already said YES.

I’ll keep saying yes to you… to us… forever.

I love you @colemambrose - thank you for being my beyond the dream. For being the only man God had for me. For creating a legacy with me. For choosing me & us… no matter what.

Which happens to also be now the # of people also in our family! Haha 🥰
